Sites: Soothing Waters and New Adventures: Lake Ouachita and Hot Springs, Arkansas

Travel to Arkansas

Having just had a baby a month before, my family and I bravely set out on a summer vacation at Lake Ouachita in Arkansas. With lots of diapers, a couple of grandparents, and a boat; we were ready for a summer vacation with our new baby girl. The lake was beautiful, the weather was wonderful, and we enjoyed exploring nearby Hot Springs — a little town with a long history, which gets its name from the natural thermal waters seeping up from the earth.

Here are a few pictures of the scenery:

If you’re planning a visit to Lake Ouachita and/or Hot Springs, here are my recommendations:

— Rolando’s — Latin fusion food — unique and delicious!

Buckstaff Bath House — enjoy the relaxing experience of a traditional bath at a historic bath house, and leave with tension melted and skin softened

— Hot Springs National Park and Bath House Row — you can take a free tour and learn about the history of the springs and bath houses
