Bites: Heallthy Snacks and Flaxseed

Sometimes we all need a little afternoon snack to keep us going. Here’s a relatively healthy snack that’s also easy to make:

I came across it on Pintrest, and it originated on this blog. Check it out, and make your own!

They have peanut butter — good source of protein; oats — good for your heart and cholesterol; honey — a natural sweet taste and antioxidants; chocolate chips — yum; and flaxseed

Flaxseed is filled with omega 3s and fiber. According to WebMD, it may help reduce risk of heart disease, cancer, stroke, and diabetes. It can also help reduce cholesterol and inflammation. Read more about this amazing food here.

You can add flaxseed to yogurt, granola, oatmeal and more.

(Note: The recipe in the link calls for ground flaxseed, but I used whole.)
