Cilantro Tilapia

Cilantro Tilapia


Mmm tilapia. There are so many ways to enjoy this simple white fish. Also, tilapia and swai are pretty much interchangeable, so if you prefer, use this recipe with swai. (Swai filets are usually a little larger, which can be nice.)


For the Cilantro Tilapia, here’s what you need:

  • 4 tilapia filets
  • ground cumin
  • salt
  • pepper
  • paprika
  • lemon
  • cilantro
  • butter
  • cooking spray


Tilapia recipe

Sprinkle salt, pepper, paprika, and cumin over both sides of tilapia. Spray cooking spray in a skillet and cook the tilapia for about 10 minutes, until flaky. Sprinkle a little lemon over the fish while it cooks.

Let about two tablespoons of butter get to room temperature. Sprinkle a little lemon, and add about two 2 tablespoons chopped, fresh cilantro and a little lemon zest. Mix into the butter.

Serve your Cilantro Tilapia with Cilantro Rice

Cilantro Rice


Make rice, and add a few tablespoons of chopped cilantro. Sprinkle lemon juice and pepper, and stir it into the rice.


Serve the tilapia over a bed of the rice with an extra slice of lemon.
