In Season: Summer Tomatoes

Tomato Dish

I mentioned before that I love visiting the farmers market, and one of my favorite purchases there is tomatoes. Fresh, soft, juicy tomatoes in summer are one of my absolute favorite foods year-round.

Last week, I showed a great way to enjoy fresh tomatoes, and here’s another:

Simply slice your tomatoes into wedges.

Chop a little onion and fresh basil.

Place your tomatoes in a dish.

Sprinkle the onion and basil over them.

Pour some olive oil and white vinegar over, just enough to coat everything. (The tomatoes don’t need to be swimming in oil and vinegar.)

Sprinkle salt and fresh cracked pepper over everything.

Let it sit for a little while if you have time, but if you can’t wait that’s ok too!
