(Ok, I understand it’s still technically spring, but June has always been summer to me. And when the high is in the 100s, it’s summer!)
To celebrate the season, we went down to San Antonio this weekend and went tubing. Unfortunately, I don’t have pictures because I don’t have a waterproof camera, but it was beautiful! Giant tree branches hung over the edges of the river, and elephant ears grew all along the riverside in large patches. It was a warm day (but not in the 100s), and the water was refreshingly cool. What a relaxing way to spend an afternoon.
Then we did a little shopping at a giant outlet mall, and in the evening we visited the Alamo as the sun was setting and then walked along the River Walk a little.
So to celebrate hot spring/summer days, here’s a homemade lemonade recipe to enjoy!
Here’s what you need:
- 1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice (about 6 lemons)
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix it all together, and refrigerate.
