Cedar Ridge Reserve

Cedar Ridge Preserve

Saturday was a beautiful day, so we played a round of disc golf and then visited the Cedar Ridge Reserve for the first time. I came across it online while doing some research for a project I’m working on with a new publication here in Dallas. I thought it might be nice to got on a little hike through the woods before it gets to hot, so off we went.

What a beautiful place though! I had no idea!

Cedar Ridge is full of wild flowers (especially this puffy, purple ones shown above) and a deep blue pond surrounded by cattails. It’s also a little hilly, which was a surprise because Dallas is so flat. We saw butterflys fluttering about and breathed the scents of fresh flowers drifting on the breeze…

If you live nearby, I definitely recommend it, and if you don’t, go find a hidden treasure in your own area this spring.
