I finished the necklace I started last week using a piece of hand-dyed silk and some repurposed beads from some vintage jewelry.
The scalloped wooden square here used to be an earring — quite a large one. It was actually part of a necklace/earring set featuring the blue beads used here.
I paired a strand of the blue beads with a strand of silk with gradations of deep purple and blue, which I rolled and hand-stitched with invisible thread.
The strands come together in the back with a single silve clasp, but the necklace is really long enough to slip over your head.
